Adding people who will receive a commission on a deal

From the Personnel tab in a deal, you can add Managers, Team Leaders, and Sales People.

*Manager’s Employee Type should not be Manager.  It must be the specific type of manager that employee is.  i.e. Finance Manager, Sales Manager, Desk Manager, etc.…
**The Default check box is to signify whose name will appear on the Deal Desking splash page and on certain reports.

Adding the commission on a deal

To add commission amounts to the correct person, click on the Comm. tab.

You will see the people from the Personnel tab imported to the grid.

Commissions are split into Front End (Sales Profit) and Back End (Finance and Insurance Profit).

Commissions may be Flat Rate or Percentage based.  The Percentage is based on the Total Comm.: for each department.*

*After checkbox can have an effect on the calculations of commissions.

“After” checkbox and Front End Commission

If the After column is checked on a Salesperson, that person will get their commission after the other people get their commission first.  For example, if Deacon’s After is checked, the system will take out Gyvan’s and Velez’s commission, then Deacon’s percentage on the remaining commission.

Setting Commission Defaults

Located in the bottom right-hand corner of the Comm. is the “Edit Defaults” button.

This will open the Commission Defaults window, where you set Percentages, Flat Rates, and Limits for New, Used, Front End, and Back End profits.

*If you don’t see a particular person’s name in the Commission Defaults, make sure that person is checked as Salesperson in Employee Setup.

Color coding on the Comm. tab

If you set a maximum total commission a person can have in the Commission Defaults, and that person exceeds that commission amount, the line will change to  .

If you set a minimum total commission a person can have in the Commission Defaults, and that person doesn’t get that commission amount, the color will change to  .

Load Defaults

Once you have set up the commission defaults, you can apply them to the deal by pressing the “Load Defaults” button located in the bottom right of the Comm. tab.
